Michael Silverstein was involved in a couple of moderately successful Belgian post-punkish bands (Digital Dance, The Names) in the late 70's and early 80's. In 1984, he joined up with singer Bernard Dradin in Japan and the two took a decidedly sharp turn into New Wave territory. They quietly released the EP Gaijin and quickly followed it up with the 12" Oriented LP under the name Noh Mask.
