Glenn Branca is considered one of the most influential forces in the No Wave movement which started in NYC in the late 70s. ...essentially No Wave was a reaction to all of the synthesized pop taking over the commercial market. it was a complete destruction of pop music, replacing melody with noise and structure with abstraction.
