Boney M

Boney M is Frank Farian (real name Franz Reuther), German songwriter/producer. After writing some disco songs he hired a group of singers and dancers from Aruba to front the band (ala lip-synching) and promote his albums. They gained moderate popularity in 1976 thanks to the group's live performances on German TV.
